Imagine Impact
You are a true superhero. Thank you for staying committed to the idea of making children understand design thinking in its true sense. The various steps in Imagine section enable the children to take a pause, envision their goal of change and come up with innovative ideas to address the real challenge.
This session will involve children to visualize the impact of the solutions on the user, thus giving them a reality check and further lead them to reflect on the learning obtained through the Imagine process in its entirety.
The Imagine Impact section begins with leading the kids to visualize the number of people they want to impact through the challenge. Scaling helps in understanding what solutions would be relevant for the user.

This session will involve children to visualize the impact of the solutions on the user, thus giving them a reality check and further lead them to reflect on the learning obtained through the Imagine process in its entirety.
The Imagine Impact section begins with leading the kids to visualize the number of people they want to impact through the challenge. Scaling helps in understanding what solutions would be relevant for the user.
An effective way to imagine impact could be to further categorize the solutions children come up with into these categories- Quick, Bold and Long lasting. While choosing, they can have a combination of more than one of these categories as the most relevant solutions.
A role-play could be a great strategy to lead the students to visualize the impact of the solutions they have voted for as a class. They can pick any one or combination of solutions and plan a role play based on them.
Reflection/ Wrapping Up
In this section, students will look back to find out the superpowers they and their peers have learnt throughout the Imagine section. It will be good strategy to encourage the students mark based on evidences and share them with their peer so that the student has a clarity on his strengths and areas of improvement.
As a means of inspiration, this will be a perfect time to appreciate the students for the efforts they have put till date. This will set a tone of positivity and jubilation in the classroom.
This process can lead the students to reflect on the tremendous amount of responsibility they have shown towards their challenge. Now is the time to think and celebrate what they have learnt through the Imagine process.
The questions mentioned in the sheet are drawn from the different phases of Imagine and will help the students to recap their learning.
An amazing way for you to celebrate student’s growth would be to do shout-outs for the ones who have shown growth during the process in a sharing circle. You can also ask each child to appreciate at least one peer they observed during the process.
You can also refer to reflection strategies shared in the article in the Feel section “Let’s Celebrate Our Superpowers”.
A useful pairing strategy could be making pairs from the groups children were working in throughout the process, as the children would be able to mark their partner with evidences from the activity. As a preparation, it will be useful to keep the pairing done before the session.
Before closing the session, you can urge the students to think how the reflections will apply to their everyday life.
