RECONNECT/ BEST CASE SCENARIO
SESSION 9
Welcome to the Imagine Stage of the FIDS process. This is one of the phases children enjoy the most as they can get to imagine the best case scenario which ensures that the children clearly understand the distinction between the goal and the solutions to reach it. In the session, children will re-imagine their hotspot identified through FEEL into a preferred scenario. As the video celebrates the idea of imagine, it can get the children hooked to the next set of activities in the section . |

Strategies to Boost Student’s Creativity
By starting the session with a creativity exercise, you can open up their mind to out of the box ideas which then becomes a hook for the session. Sharing some examples below-
1. Ask the kids to come up with 50 uses of a regular object like a chair/pen/table.
2. What Happens Next: Ask one student to begin a story. Just as the kid reaches a dramatic moment, say, "And then....", the next kid has to continue the story from where he left off. You can support if needed by asking questions linked to the story. Eg: "Do you think the monster ran away? Where do you think she went?"

Reconnect to the Feel
To establish a link between student’s observations through Feel and the next step, you can start by doing a Recap of the Feel. Through questions, you can lead them to draw a journey map/ mind map as well. Here are some guiding questions to carry out the dialogue.
Best Case Scenario
Best Case Scenario has two key components- Current / Preferred Scenario.

- Why this hotspot bothers us?
- What are the key findings/ aspects about the hotspot that were discovered through the Feel process?

Strategies to form Best Case Scenario
- Using Analogy (Like)
My perfect family evening can be like a… Art Attack. - Asking What If
What if…my ideal family evening is like a …Sports Tournament.
- Using Verbs (Action Words)
In the family night, each family member decorates the outside wall together with DIY material.
Things to keep in mind
- Keep the different parts of the session well timed.
- Best case scenario is a goal (destination) and not the solution (path).
- Asking probing questions can lead the children to have a clear vision.
- Encouraging them to illustrate than to write their best case scenario.
Going Back to the Feel: Once the children have made their best case scenario, it will be important to lead them to think if their final best case scenario is connected to the hotspot they had identified.
While closing the loop, it will be a great strategy to take responses from children on their experience with the session and if it helped them to visualize their goal in a clear way.
